Stadiums: every matchday under control
Gates, concourses, the pitch and the meter room report to one platform. baiond answers the questions a matchday asks before the steward, the greenkeeper or the energy invoice do.

- Occupancy N3 78%
- Threshold 80%
- Inflow 410/min
What goes wrong quietly.
Crowds you see too late
Forty thousand people arrive through a handful of gates in ninety minutes. Where it gets tight is a radio call, and by the time it comes the concourse is already full.
Turf judged by eye
The pitch is walked, pressed with a heel and declared ready. Moisture, root-zone temperature and salt build-up under the surface stay unknown until the grass shows it.
Energy that peaks unattended
Floodlights, catering, HVAC and the video wall run together for five hours. The bill shows the peak; nobody saw which circuit caused it.

- Occupancy N3 78%
- Threshold 80%
- Inflow 410/min
Not yet. The concourse behind gate N3 is at 78 % occupancy, just below the defined threshold of 80 %, while inflow is running at 410 people per minute. All other entrances and concourses remain balanced.
Open the second turnstile row at N3 and redirect arriving home supporters to N2. Continue monitoring during peak ingress.
Would you like me to investigate further?
Looking closer. This is what the data shows:
Possible reasons- Gate N3 has been open for 35 minutes; gates N1 and N2 opened 10 minutes later.
- The kiosk queue in the N3 concourse is blocking one third of its width.
- Away supporters are routed through N3 only, as defined in the event plan.

- Soil moisture 31.6%
- Target 20–25%
- Root-zone temp. 11.4°C
Mostly. The south penalty area reads 31.6 % soil moisture, above the target range of 20–25 % for firm footing, while root-zone temperature is 11.4 °C. The rest of the pitch is within range.
Skip the midday irrigation, aerate the south penalty area and re-check moisture at 15:00. Keep the under-soil heating on until root-zone temperature passes 12 °C.
Would you like me to investigate further?
Looking closer. This is what the data shows:
Possible reasons- 18 mm of rain fell overnight; the south end drains slowest because of the stand's shadow.
- The irrigation cycle at 05:00 ran on schedule despite the rainfall.
- Root-zone temperature has been below 12 °C for four days, slowing water uptake.

- Current load 2.35MW
- Contracted peak 2.40MW
- Floodlights 640kW
Yes, within minutes. Total load is at 2.35 MW, only 50 kW below the contracted peak of 2.40 MW, with the floodlights alone drawing 640 kW. Half-time catering and the HVAC ramp-up are still ahead.
Dim the floodlights to broadcast level now and stagger the HVAC half-time boost by ten minutes. Move the oven preheat to 20:25 for the next fixture.
Would you like me to investigate further?
Looking closer. This is what the data shows:
Possible reasons- All four floodlight masts run at 100 % although broadcast level needs 85 % on this fixture.
- Catering kitchens preheat ovens from 20:15, ten minutes earlier than last season.
- The concourse HVAC starts its half-time boost at the same minute.

Where the sensors sit.
Every dot is a sensor family in its typical place. Select one to see what it measures and what baiond does with it.
baiond connects the occupancy sensors at your gates and concourses, the soil sensors under the pitch and the energy meters in one platform. Every sector reports continuously, thresholds are defined by you, and when a value leaves its range the right person gets a message with the reading, the reasons and the next step. Ask before kick-off whether any sector is at risk, and the answer comes with its source.

Your industry guide
One PDF for your industry: the questions baiond answers there, the sensors that measure it and what changes on site.
What managers ask before they start.
Can baiond tell me before kick-off where it will get crowded?
Yes. Counting sensors at the gates and concourses report occupancy per sector at short, regular intervals. You set a threshold per sector; when it is reached, the stewards on duty get a message with the sector and the gate that still has room.
Is the visitor counting anonymous?
Yes. The sensors count people, they do not identify them. No images are stored, and the counts are the only data that leaves the sensor.
What do the sensors under the pitch measure?
Soil moisture, temperature at root depth and salinity. baiond compares them with the targets your greenkeeper sets and flags stress before the turf shows it, so treatment is targeted instead of preventive across the whole pitch.
Can I see which circuit drives the energy peak on match day?
Yes. Meters per circuit – floodlights, catering, HVAC, screens – report to the baiond Gateway. The Graph Builder puts them on one timeline with the occupancy, so you see what was running when the peak occurred and what can start later next time.
Does baiond work with the systems we already have?
The baiond Gateway reads LoRaWAN, Modbus, BACnet, KNX and MQTT, so existing meters, building automation and counting systems connect without replacement. New sensors are wireless and battery-powered.
Who gets the alerts?
Whoever you assign per topic: stewards for occupancy, the greenkeeper for turf, facility management for energy. Roles and sites are organised in the Space System, so a message never goes to everyone.
