Sports & Leisure: facilities that know
Run stadiums, golf courses, sports turf, bike parks and halls on data: irrigation, occupancy, energy and visitor numbers in one platform.

Different sites, the same questions.
A stadium on match day, a golf course at dawn, twelve municipal pitches, a bike park on a sunny Saturday and a sports hall on a Tuesday evening have one thing in common: what matters is happening somewhere the operator cannot see. The crowd building at gate N3, the green drying out on hole 8, the trail over capacity, the changing room at 75 % humidity. Today these are found by radio, by walking the site or by the invoice.
The questions are always the same. Is the pitch ready? Where is it getting crowded? Which zone needs water, and which does not? What was running when the energy peak hit? How many people actually came? They are asked by venue managers, head greenkeepers, municipal sports offices, lift operators and club boards, and they are asked before the event, not after.
baiond puts the sensors that answer them on one platform: counters at gates, trails and doors, soil sensors in the root zone, weather stations on site, meters per circuit and per hall, climate sensors in changing rooms and stores. Every zone reports continuously, thresholds are yours, and when a value leaves its range the right person gets a message with the reading, the reasons and the next step.
Each industry below has its own page with the situations, sensors and questions of that business, written in the words of the people who run it.

Every page speaks the language of the people who run the site: their questions, their sensors, their thresholds.

- Occupancy N3 78%
- Threshold 80%
- Inflow 410/min
Not yet. The concourse behind gate N3 is at 78 % occupancy, just below the defined threshold of 80 %, while inflow is running at 410 people per minute. All other entrances and concourses remain balanced.
Open the second turnstile row at N3 and redirect arriving home supporters to N2. Continue monitoring during peak ingress.
Would you like me to investigate further?
Looking closer. This is what the data shows:
Possible reasons- Gate N3 has been open for 35 minutes; gates N1 and N2 opened 10 minutes later.
- The kiosk queue in the N3 concourse is blocking one third of its width.
- Away supporters are routed through N3 only, as defined in the event plan.

- Soil moisture 14.8%
- Target 20–25%
- Greens in range 17/18
Yes. Hole 8 is showing critically low soil moisture at 14.8 %, well below the target range of 20–25 %, and the turf indicates increasing drought stress. All other monitored greens (17 of 18) remain within the optimal range.
Increase watering around hole 8 now, check the left sprinkler head, and continue monitoring soil moisture over the next few hours.
Would you like me to investigate further?
Looking closer. This is what the data shows:
Possible reasons- Green 8 faces south-west and received 6.1 kWh/m² of solar radiation yesterday, the most on the course.
- The sprinkler head on the left side of the green delivered 40 % less water than its neighbours last night.
- No rain is forecast for the next 48 hours; wind stays at 20 km/h.

- Soil moisture 22.4% VWC
- Target 20–25%
- Soil temp. 10 cm 18.2°C
Yes. The subterranean moisture level is currently 22.4 % VWC and within the target range for optimal turf firmness (20–25 %). Soil temperature at 10 cm depth is 18.2 °C and salinity levels are balanced. No irrigation is required today.
Continue regular monitoring. Skip tonight's cycle on green 9 if the 15:00 reading is still above 21 %.
Would you like me to investigate further?
Looking closer. This is what the data shows:
Possible reasons- Last night's cycle delivered 4 mm; evapotranspiration today is forecast at 3.8 mm.
- Salinity is at 0.9 dS/m, well below the 1.5 dS/m stress threshold after last week's feed.
- The green has been in the target band for six consecutive days.

What operators ask before they start.
Which sports facilities does baiond cover?
Stadiums and arenas, golf courses, sports turf of any kind, bike parks and trail centres, and sports halls, pools and outdoor facilities run by municipalities and clubs. The sensors differ, the platform is the same.
Is visitor and rider counting anonymous?
Yes. Counters record numbers, not people. No images are stored and nothing personal leaves the sensor, so the data can be used for safety, staffing and reports with little data-protection effort.
Do the sensors need cables across the pitch or the mountain?
No. Soil sensors, counters and climate sensors run on batteries or small solar cells and send by LoRaWAN over long distances to the baiond Gateway. Existing meters and building automation connect through the same gateway.
Can one platform run several sites?
Yes. The Space System organises sites, halls, pitches and zones in one tree, with roles per site. A municipality compares all its facilities on one screen and routes each alert to the crew responsible.
