Retail
What they have in common

Different sites, the same questions.

Retail runs on a few numbers that arrive too late. The temperature log from the fresh counters is on a clipboard, the energy bill comes a month after the compressor started failing, and the door counter says how many people came in without saying where they went. A store manager knows something is off long before the spreadsheet does, and a regional manager with twelve stores cannot know at all.

baiond puts the sensors a store already needs, temperature in the counters and cold rooms, people counters at the door and on the floor, air quality on the sales floor, energy meters on the circuits, onto one platform. Every store is a site, every counter and area a place with its own readings and thresholds. When a value leaves its range, the right person gets a message with the reading, the likely cause and the next step. The HACCP protocol writes itself, and stores become comparable side by side.

The questions are the ones you ask on the floor anyway: Is the fish counter within range? Which store is drifting this week, and why? Do I open a second checkout now? Ask baiond in plain language, and the answer comes with the numbers and the source.

Supermarkets start with the cold chain and energy per store; retail stores start with footfall per area, dwell time and the climate that keeps customers on the floor. Both pages show the sensors, the situations and what changes.

The sensor reports to the baiond Gateway, the Space System puts the reading in context (location, threshold, history), and the AI agent turns it into an answer.

  • Current 5.8°C
  • Threshold 0–2°C
  • Deviating 24min

No. The temperature has risen to 5.8 °C, exceeding the defined threshold for fresh fish products (0–2 °C). The deviation has persisted for 24 minutes, increasing the risk of reduced product quality.

Questions

What operators ask before they start.

Which sensors does a store typically start with?

Supermarkets start with temperature in the fresh counters and cold rooms and an energy meter on the refrigeration circuit. Retail stores start with people counters at the door and on the floor and an air quality sensor on the sales floor. Everything else is added zone by zone.

Does the store have to close for the installation?

No. Temperature, air and counting sensors are battery-powered and wireless; they go up during opening hours. Energy meters clip onto circuits in the distribution board, which an electrician does in about an hour.

Can I compare stores across a region?

Yes. Every store uses the same zones and the same readings, so a regional manager sees them side by side: energy per square metre, footfall per hour, deviations per week, and asks which one is drifting and why.

Is customer data involved?

No personal data. Counters record shapes and directions, not faces; climate and energy sensors measure the building. The platform holds counts and readings per zone, nothing about individual customers.
